Prof. Mark Chukwudi Okeji is a pioneering academic in Radiography and the current Registrar/CEO of the Radiographers Registration Board of Nigeria (RRBN). He is widely recognised for his contributions to radiographic education and professional development across Nigeria and West Africa.
Prof. Okeji earned his B.Sc (Hons) in Radiography, followed by an M.Sc and PhD in Radiography from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka—becoming the first person to obtain a PhD in Radiography from any department in Nigeria and West Africa. Before joining academia, he worked at the National Orthopaedic Hospital, Enugu, where he rose to the rank of Assistant Chief Radiographer. He later joined the University of Nigeria as a lecturer in 2006 and served in various academic leadership roles, including Senior Lecturer, Associate Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences and Technology, and Head of the Department of Radiography and Radiological Sciences.
Beyond academia, Prof. Okeji has held influential positions in professional bodies. He is the Immediate Past President of the Association of Radiographers of Nigeria (ARN), a former Vice-President of the Pan African Congress of Radiology and Imaging (PACORI), and President of the Africa Radiography Forum. He has also served on governing boards of institutions such as the University of Uyo Teaching Hospital and the University of Nigeria College of Medicine. His scholarly output includes over 40 journal publications in reputable national and international outlets, and he has played a key role in establishing radiography programmes in several Nigerian universities.
Prof. Okeji is also a devout Catholic and a member of the Knight of St. John International (KSJI). He is married to Barrister Uzoamaka Okeji, and they are blessed with four children.
