Engr. ThankGod Egbe is a seasoned petroleum engineer and technology executive with over two decades of experience in the oil and gas industry. He currently serves as the Technical Director and Chief Executive Officer of CypherCrescent Limited, a leading Nigerian firm specialising in reservoir surveillance and production optimisation. Under his leadership, the company has developed the SEPAL software suite, a cutting-edge solution for well and reservoir management that is widely adopted across the sector. His strategic direction and technical expertise have positioned CypherCrescent as a key player in energy innovation.
Mr Egbe’s professional journey began at the University of Port Harcourt, where he earned both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Petroleum Engineering. He started his career as a Graduate Assistant and Research Associate at the university, while simultaneously working as a Software Developer at Integral Computing and Research Centre. His early exposure to both academia and software development laid the foundation for his multidisciplinary approach to engineering and technology.
He later joined Shell Petroleum Development Company, where he held various roles over an eight-year period, including Senior Reservoir Engineer and Subject Matter Expert in Integrated Production System Modelling. His international assignments in Rijswijk, The Netherlands, saw him serve as Global Focal Point for MoReS-GAP and Oil Field Manager Software, as well as IPSM Global Consultant. These roles provided him with global exposure and deepened his expertise in production forecasting, field development, and reservoir engineering analysis.
Throughout his career, Mr Egbe has demonstrated a consistent commitment to innovation, operational excellence, and capacity building. His leadership style is marked by focus, motivation, and results-driven execution. He is fluent in English and has working proficiency in Dutch, enabling him to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and geographies. His technical acumen spans integrated production systems, software development, and strategic planning, making him a valuable asset to both industry and academia.
